This project involved a major landscape renovation to the "west garden" of this historic residence. The homeowners wanted to maintain the garden's formality, but were looking for more color and excitement in the new design. Rice's Nursery and Landscaping installed an outdoor cooking area, lush plantings, new turf, and a fire pit, and updated an existing water feature to complement new flagstone walkways and stone steps.

This homeowner wanted an impressive entertaining area. As "phase one" of a large master plan, #1 Landscaping created an elevated 48 foot by 48 foot patio, complete with two sets of stairs that lead visitors into the lawn. Arbors and freestanding columns at the front of the patio help to give the project a formal classic look with a casual open feel - allowing for family or business entertaining.

KGK Gardening and Design designed and installed a front yard terrace with pergola, pond, bluestone walkways, and gardens to take advantage of their client's sprawling remote property. A prairie style pavilion that harmonized with the landscape and home was built to extend the outdoor season for entertaining, and a grill house was added to allow year round outdoor cooking.
